We were having a standing water in area next and around the side of our house. During certain downpours it could be up to 4 or 5 inches of standing water. Nick came out to diagnose my drainage issues, provided great documentation and came back again when we had more questions and potential problem areas before pulling the trigger. When we suggested to rip and replace an additional drain, Nick said while he could, it wouldn’t be cost effective and wouldn’t lead to a better outcome. That kind of honesty is refreshing, appreciated and unfortunately, somewhat rare. Trust trumps everything and Nick is trustworthy in how he runs his business. I was slated to install my driveway with-in two weeks time. However, there was an unforseen problem....Installing the driveway will block the the path of water drainage. There will be a very large holding cell of water that will sit against my house foundation and surround my deck posts and entry unto the deck. I will echo the good reviews that have been posted so far for these guys. I really like the communication and prompt response I received. I submitted a request for appointment/call on Saturday and have already met with them by Monday evening. Nick came to my home and looked at the issue I'm having with mild erosion in my side yard. It's not a major issue but is large enough that I wanted to get a professional opinion on how to fix it. He could have easily sold me on a costly overkill solution but that didn't happen. Instead, Nick explained what was really causing the erosion and identified a few options that would help. I contacted Nick when I was having issues with water flooding into my home. I was very impressed with his knowledge and the detailed job he did assessing the issue. His recommended solution ended up being something that required repair by the DOT, but he did not try and push any other solutions on me. It was because of Nick that I was able to finally figure out what needed to be done after many others had offered no help. Great service! Nick came out and inspected my issue with poor drainage in my front yard near my front steps. He proposed his plan for a drain to me and gave me a very reasonable quote for the work. I agreed to the work and we called the city to have the yard marked to do the work. The city was slow to respond and Nick stepped in and escalated with the city and got that taken care of. Drain My Lawn did just that for us! They are a remarkable business overall and a model for how people ought to be doing work. The process started with a detailed assessment of our drainage issues and a clear video detailing what work would be done. The system they proposed and then put in place was terrific---well thought out in order to keep water away from the house (and all kinds of extra things I would not have thought about). They were always prompt and courteous. They did not overcharge but offered a fair and reasonable price for the work. The crew who did the labor were amazing--some of the hardest working folks I've seen in awhile. They were meticulous and a delight to have on our yard for a near week of labor. Overall, if you care about quality, efficiency, clarity, integrity, and honesty---then you will not find a better drainage company than DML. We plan to use them (Fence My Yard) for our fencing needs when the time comes. Again---having worked with lots of different companies over the years I find it is becoming more rare to find people who really care about their reputation and integrity. Drain My Yard recently completed extensive work installing drainage system(s) around our home and am pleased to give them my highest recommendation. From our first interaction, I found the team to be professional, knowledgeable very practical with their approach to finding the best way to resolve our problems. They created detailed plans including videos to explain and illustrate their recommendations and were able to execute on the project within the timeline and budget we agreed on. I found the members of the team to be communicative, hard working, polite, thoughtful in how they left things around our home, and the work they did was done extremely well. We have had several severe rains since the project completed and I am very pleased with the result. This team also have a gutter/roof drainage company Drain My Roof - who were involved in the project as well and I was equally pleased with their work. Both teams communicated thoroughly, showed great integrity and transparency in their pricing - even crediting me for materials they did not end up using on the job despite my agreement to pay at the beginning. Can't say enough about the folks at Drain My Lawn.. I had them replace two driveaway culverts, install a new one in a second driveway and do some drainage related grading on my property and was very pleased!.. When my son bought his first home recently... We had Drain My Lawn come out and look at a situation caused by the previous owner.. They installed new drainage lines and a catch basin and graded and seeded the area afterwards... Now it looks like they were never there. Had a downpour a day or two after they finished the work and the new drainage system worked flawlessly!!! I really like Nick's business model and how he pours into the staff and give them opportunities to be part of the business. Everyone is very responsive and respectful. When Nick came out to both properties, he not only listened to our concerns, but spent time taking measurements and video of the area. As part of his estimate he provided a short video describing the proposed solution and work to be done.. If you have any drainage related issues you need to call Drain My Lawn.. We bought a new house and after the very first rain it was clear we had a serious drainage problem which caused several thousand gallons of water to collect in the backyard (and took DAYS to drain), and the water got dangerously close to the crawl space. Nick came out and confirmed the problem, did a thorough assessment, and completed the job while we were on vacation. We returned home a few days after the work was completed, on the morning after a big downpour and the backyard was bone dry. They did a great job cleaning up the mess and even seeded the yard where they worked. We are impressed with the work and believe the price, although significant, was fair for the amount of work done.
